Canyon Homecoming Week 2022
With school starting up, students look forward to the first big event, Homecoming. Canyon’s ASB has worked extremely hard on spirit week, the rally, our homecoming game, homecoming parade for the court and, finally, the homecoming carnival.
To kickstart the week, it started off with spirit day. Each class came to school wearing their assigned colors. The week continued with the funniest spirit day, dress like a barbeque dad, and ended with jersey day on Thursday and neon day on Friday.
Friday was a pretty big day for Canyon. ASB kicked off the excitement for Homecoming with the first rally of this year. Having performances from color guard, JV and Varsity cheer, dance, drumline and the homecoming court. Additionally, there were appearances from girls volleyball, girls tennis and varsity football. It was a time used to get hyped up for the big game that night and the carnival dance the next day.
Before the game, Canyon held the annual homecoming parade where the court dressed up and got to drive and wave to everyone. Everyone looked amazing, and it gave everyone another look at the court.
Later that night was the big homecoming football game. The stands filled up with people coming to support the Cowboys. The theme remained neon, and the student section did not mess around. Most students came head to toe in neon outfits as they cheered on their team. Even with some rain, the students didn’t let that ruin their time. Though the score was not the best, it was still a fun night for everyone as they got ready for the big event the next day.
On Saturday, ASB’s hard work had paid off when they watched their plan come to life. The bottom parking lot had a ferris wheel, games, a DJ, a big slide and another fun ride. Many students came and had fun with their friends as they enjoyed all that ASB had brought.
Homecoming week was yet again another success, and Canyon can’t wait for their next big event.
