Manage Your Mental Health

As a teenager in this generation, it is good to know the difference between mental health and mental wellness. Additionally, it is important to learn and understand them both. Sadly, mental health and wellness can get pushed aside, and some people may not have a full understanding of it and how important it is.

What is mental health? According to the CDC, mental health is “an important part of overall health and well-being,” and they describe mental health as “our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act.” Mental health affects everybody on a daily basis, and it is a contributor to our overall health. For example, your eating habits and normal physical health can have long-term effects like diabetes, heart disease, and more.

Now what is mental wellness? The Global Wellness Institute says that, “Mental wellness is an internal resource that helps us think, feel, connect, and function; it is an active process that helps us to build resilience, grow, and flourish.” Doing things that make you feel good, such as biking, drawing, listening to music, and more activities, can increase your mental wellness.

When going through the days of the crazy world we live in, it is common to have troubles with your mental health, and issues like that are totally normal. It is important to keep up your mental wellness, so as you go through the days, you can feel good, have good energy, higher confidence, and more positive thoughts in your life.

So, it is important to always remember to make time to take care of yourself; it is more beneficial than it seems.
