Spotify is one of the most popular platforms for music streaming, especially for teens. Spotify was founded in 2006 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon. It was then launched two years later in 2008, changing music forever.

Spotify does not just provide songs, but also podcasts. In 2022, they started to stream audiobooks as well.

Spotify is almost more popular than iTunes. Spotify has many features that make it likable. This app makes daily mixes, which are a bunch of songs put into one daily playlist. There are at least six different playlists mostly based on genres. Playlists that have viral songs or all of the same genre, like hip hop, country, and others, are also provided for listeners to listen to.

Spotify also has a special slideshow made at the end of the year, with different songs, artists, and genres for every user called “Spotify Wrapped.” It is where the users look and see the most played artist and most played song they listened to that year. It also shows how many minutes of listening you had that year.

Another feature is “Spotify Blend.” This feature allows two friends to create a blend and Spotify takes both of their most listened to songs and combines it into one playlist that both friends can listen to, and the songs refresh everyday. You can also create a blend with more than one person!

Something similar to a blend is just creating a normal playlist and sharing it with as many people you want, and you all add your own songs to this playlist.

As Spotify grows, it adds more and more features, and also gains more listeners. Spotify helps people get lost in the music, or podcasts and audiobooks.
