Louis Vuitton (LV) is a designer brand mostly visited and bought by celebrities. They have a variety of merchandise, such as jewelry, clothes, bags, accessories, and even shoes. They have been popular since the ‘90s and onwards.
Louis Vuitton was first founded in 1854 by the man himself, Louis Vuitton. At first, Vuitton was a box maker in 1853, where they used “wood, brass, and leather” to make fancy boxes or trunks for people to use while traveling, and to this day, LV still makes these trunks. By making these trunks Vuitton became a great craftsman and a personal boxmaker for “Eugénie, who had become the wife of Napoleon III and empress of France that same year.” Obviously, this made Vuitton well-known, and he ended up opening his own shop next to other well-known fashion shops.
After a while, Vuitton started to change his products, making them more durable. He switched them from leather, which was heavyweight and often would crack, to lightweight wood; they became water resistant and stain resistant.
After a while, Vuitton’s brand grew. However, on Feb. 27, 1892, Louis Vuitton sadly passed, which made his son Georges Vuitton the owner of the company. After receiving ownership, Georges expanded the company to America, and he ended up making the logo an LV, honoring his father.
Now, in the 21st century, LV is considered a luxurious brand and is expanding its merchandise around the world. Louis Vuitton is now a family-owned fashion company, attending fashion weeks and still making beautifully designed products for their customers.
