“Lisa Frankenstein” is a movie set in the 1980s about an awkward teenage girl, Lisa. She is forced to live in a new town after her mother’s death, and while dealing with her grief, she starts to get attached to a certain gentleman.
The Creature, who is played by Cole Sprouse, just so happens to be undead. Lisa is played by Kathryn Newton. She goes from being a shy girl to being an accomplice to multiple murderers, all for love. This is a clever romcom film that has a different yet fun plot with hilarious and lovable characters.
Going in, I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as the title card showed, I fell in love. I believe that this movie is going down in history as a cult classic alongside movies like, “The Craft” and “Jennifer’s Body.”
This movie made me laugh and inevitably made me cry so hard from how the two main characters were so in love, even if it was shown in a twisted way. The film was strange but so delightful, especially seeing how far they would both go for each other. A scene includes a killing spree to see each other happy, which could leave viewers with one question, “What would you do for love?”
With that question hanging around, I recommend this film for hopeless romantics, and I give this movie a 9.5/10 because it is the best movie I have laid my eyes on so far this year. I adore this gross and romantic movie with every bone in my body. I 100% recommend this film to watch with your friends or significant other the next time you get together for a movie night.
