Rise and shine seniors, for your final year of high school!
The early morning air was buzzing with energy as seniors gathered for a picture-perfect moment, the Senior Sunrise! As the sun rose over the horizon, so did the excitement of these seniors who were ready to make their mark one last moment before they graduate into the real world.
The event started at 6:30 a.m., significantly earlier than the 8:50 a.m. school start time. Many seniors drove themselves and their friends to the event, while others started their day much earlier to pick up breakfast to munch on.
Although there was no food provided by the school, many students wrapped in cozy blankets, shared donuts, coffee, laughs, and memories. It was the best way to start the year, with friends by their side and dreams on the rise.
A few students shared their thoughts. Senior Blake Hansen said, “It’s like only yesterday I was a freshman listening to the morning announcements about the senior events, thinking to myself that it’s gonna be forever until I get to enjoy those events. Now we’re here.”
Senior Gabriel Villalobos sarcastically complained about waking up early: “Sunrise was cool, but 5 a.m.? I already wake up early enough for cross country practice.”
By the time the sun had fully risen, seniors walked back to their cars. Some went to breakfast after the event rather than before, wasting not a single second. Senior Myles Orozcos said, “My friends and I went to Everest to enjoy a fat breakfast burrito. We barely made it to class. but it was worth it.”
Seniors, do not end your final year of high school with regrets. ATTEND! EVERY! SINGLE! EVENT!
