Have you ever been searching for an emoji, but you can’t find the right one? Well, Apple might have just solved your problem.
On Sept. 9, Apple had an event to launch their newest iPhone 16. Along with the 16, Apple also announced a new pair of Airpods, Apple Watch, and updates to the already existing Apple Watch series 10, and Airpod Pro 2.
As far as iPhones go, Apple announced the new iPhone 16, 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and Pro Max. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are both made out of aluminum, and come in colors black, white, pink, teal, ultramarine. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are made out of titanium that is said to be significantly lighter, as well as more scratch resistant. Both the Pro and Pro Max also have the new A18 pro chip, which powers the newest camera features.
The camera was greatly improved in this new generation of iPhones. A new button was added, specifically to control the camera. The camera system features “48MP Fusion camera with a 2x Telephoto option” which gives users more freedom and control, as well as more detail in wide-angled shots. Not only do these improve the photos your phone can take, it also improves the video quality, with the newest iPhones able to capture 120 frames per second, making it double that of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
Everything about the iPhone 16 is more durable, including the screen, which Apple is calling the “Ceramic Shield.” This screen is said to be two times tougher than the glass on any other iPhone, as well as 50 percent more durable than the first generation of this product.
Apple also claims that the battery life will be better on these new iPhones, as they have reengineered the phone so that a bigger battery fits, and so that it will dissipate heat at a faster pace.
One feature that everyone was hyped about was Apple Intelligence. One of the main selling points Apple has made for this product has been that the users privacy will be protected, as it will follow the “Private Cloud Compute.” There are many things that Apple Intelligence will have the ability to do, including creating new emojis. In addition, Apple Intelligence will have the ability to “rewrite, proofread, and summarize text nearly everywhere they write.”
If you’re someone who often misses key points on important phone calls, then this next one will help you. If a recording is started during the phone call, after the call ends Apple Intelligence will create a summary of the key points that happened during the conversation. Another helpful feature of Apple Intelligence is that it will analyze your emails, showing you the most important information from that email.
At the same event, Apple also decided to launch their newest model of Airpods, the Airpod 4. These earbuds are the “most advanced and comfortable headphones Apple has ever created with an open-ear design.” In order to create the best shape for this product, Apple used “3D photogrammetry and laser topography” to create the most naturally fitting shape that the people can enjoy. The case itself is also 10% smaller than the previous models.
Moving on to the already existing products, the Airpod Max was launched in five new colors. These colors include midnight, starlight, blue, orange, and purple, as well as the ability to charge with USB-C.
One of the most impressive announcements came with the already existing Apple Airpod Pro 2. Apple announced that they will be launching a software that allows users to “take a clinical-level hearing test,” then turn their Airpods into hearing aids. This was genius on Apple’s part since the average hearing aid costs thousands of dollars!
Regardless if you are an Android or Apple user, with this event, Apple has shown how many technical advancements they are making, which will hopefully help improve users’ quality of life.
