Jimmy Donaldson, who is better known by his online alias MrBeast, has recently come under the relentless fire of internet cancellation after some worrying allegations have come to light.
It began when Ava Kris Tyson, long-time friend of Donaldson and a previous member of the MrBeast crew, was caught allegedly sending questionable messages to an underage fan. The allegations caused a domino effect of sorts, with accusation after accusation blowing up many members of the crew, as well as some first-hand accounts from both previous members of the crew and previous contestants of Donaldson’s famous challenges.
The accusations against MrBeast initially started when a YouTube user by the name of DogPack404 posted a 54-minute long exposé against Donaldson. DogPack404, whose real name is Dawson, went on to detail everything he experienced and witnessed in the time he worked for MrBeast, from Feb. 2024 to June 2024.
Dawson accused Donaldson of multiple things, but some of the most daunting of the bunch are as follows: he accused the YouTuber of using CGI to make the videos appear much more cinematic than they really are and misusing post-production editing to create false narratives. Dawson also pointed out that the people that compete in MrBeast contests aren’t actually ‘random subscribers’ as Donaldson has led his fans to believe; the majority of them either work for him, are close friends of his, or are friends and family members of his employees.
Dawson also accused Donaldson of illegal lotteries, which he claimed were used to manipulate his primarily child fanbase. Most of the alleged lotteries had to do with Donaldson’s chocolate brand, Feastables. Dawson stated that the giveaways continue to promote unhealthy lifestyles to his fan base—which, again, is mainly young and impressionable children—by encouraging them to buy multiple candy bars to ‘increase their chance of winning.’
However, Dawson hasn’t been the only YouTuber to speak out about Donaldson; the two most notable YouTube personalities to give their first-hand accounts are Rosanna Pansino, a popular baking YouTuber, and Jake Weddle, a comedian and former friend and employee of Donaldson’s crew.
Since the first set of allegations back in July, there have been multiple accusations against the renowned YouTube creator, each one seemingly being more dramatic than the last. The argument over whether or not Donaldson will actually receive any repercussions from YouTube—considering he pioneered a big part of what YouTube is today—continues to be a hot topic.
