Since the dawn of time, hot chicken has been one of the essential and best foods to ever be created. However, there is one chicken spot that is unlike any other, and it’s name is Dave's Hot Chicken, known informally as Dave’s.
At Dave's Hot Chicken, they serve chicken in seven different levels of spice. They range from “No Spice” to “Reaper,” so there is surely a level of heat suitable for anyone. They offer their chicken as either a tender or a slider, and it can be ordered as either two sliders/tenders or one of each with a side of fries.
They also offer other sides including mac and cheese and coleslaw. If none of these interest you, they also have loaded fries and “Dave’s Not Chicken,” which is a vegan alternative that they offer.
When I go to Dave's Hot Chicken, I like to order a slider, which comes with a chicken tender on a potato bun, along with fries. While it is a simple dish, the flavor from the chicken is just enough to make the meal perfect.
Another amazing part of Dave’s is their sauce. While similar to a standard thousand island dressing, it is different enough to be a unique experience that is surely not to be missed.
To get a second opinion, I interviewed Canyon student Andrew Mehrabi who is my personal friend and a self-proclaimed hot chicken critic. He said, “Dave's Hot Chicken is one of my favorite chicken spots because of its spectacular honey flavor and high quality chicken.”
Dave's Hot Chicken has over 283 locations all across the United States with 70 locations in California and 14 in Florida. No matter the journey that one must go on for the chicken from Dave’s, I can guarantee the destination will be worth the trip.
