On Saturday, April 19, Canyon High School’s Fashion Club presented “Destination Runway: Fashion Around the World.” After more than a year of planning and production, the show, led by club president Santiago Guevara and vice president Keo, brought the club’s creativity to the spotlight.
Throughout the night, Breezy Mulan and Bailey Bond acted as flight attendants, guiding the audience from place to place. Their energy kept the crowd engaged, making each transition seamless.
The show featured eight collections, each inspired by a different city and designed by students:
Los Angeles, USA — Karyme Palacios, Erica Victorio, Grace Ryan and Ava Fine
Tokyo, Japan — Melody Ramirez, Lee I., Aniyah Cornett and Michelle Fernandez
Cairo, Egypt — Emory Crawford and Daniela Amador
London, UK — Eli Agcaoili, Cassidy Denton and Taylor Scott
Paris, France — Isis Fregoso
Rome, Italy — Ken Sasono
Barcelona, Spain — Taylor Zahrt
New York, USA — Santiago Guevara
Each collection represented its destination through creative designs. From the laid-back, stylish looks of Los Angeles to the bold fashion statements of Paris and New York, the outfits reflected both the culture and the current trends of each city. Every model confidently showcased the student-made pieces and originality that went into each one.
My favorite was the Tokyo collection. The vibrant colors, edgy streetwear and layering captured the Tokyo fashion and stood out as a highlight of the evening. Another personal favorite moment was Jonevan Limpus modeling a Cupid-inspired outfit, complete with wings on his back.
Before each fashion line debuted, live musical performances set the tone for the destination:
Los Angeles — Diane Riser and Breezy Mulan performed “Crazy in Love”
Tokyo — Leo Perez and Jean Allen Aniceto performed “Stay With Me”
Cairo — Destiny Yoc and Viviana Villegas performed “Arabian Nights”
London — Cassidy Denton performed “Beautiful Stranger,” followed by Breezy Mulan’s performance of “Skyfall”
Paris and Rome — Leo Perez and Jean Allen Aniceto performed “Le Festin” from “Ratatouille,” followed by the jazz ensemble’s performance of “Days of Wine and Roses”
Barcelona — Lexi Milak performed an original dance to Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain”
New York — Sofiah Lopez and the jazz ensemble performed “Sally”
At the end of the night, Breezy Mulan and Bailey Bond closed the show with a performance of “Party in the USA.” As they sang, all the models returned to the runway, dancing and celebrating together.
From the stunning outfits to the standout performances, the event showcased the talent, hard work and spirit of Canyon High School’s Fashion Club.
