Soup is one of the most diverse dishes from around the world. The soup bowl was first created in 20000 BC China, but has since spread to all countries. With all its different, delicious variations, which is the best?
5) Chicken Noodle Soup
Starting with a classic, chicken noodle soup is top notch when it comes to the feeling of home. Eating the dish always leaves the stomach full and the mind happy as the classic warmth fills the body with comfort.
4) Broccoli Cheddar
Popularized by Panera, broccoli cheddar soup is a staple for dinner. The creamy soup base coats the mouth, and the taste of broccoli is unbeatable. In my humble opinion, broccoli is the only vegetable that could best fit this soup base. The flavors mix so well, so the dish is definitely a go-to!
3) Miso Soup
The deep umami flavor of miso in miso soup is to die for. The miso flavor is quite different from any other soup, making it stand out exponentially. Having tofu in the soup makes the experience ten times better; the texture difference is a true once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you have not tried this soup before, I definitely recommend it on a rainy day.
2) Lentil Soup
Lentil soup has so many variations, it is truly a delight to eat. Originating in the Middle East, the soup has spread far and wide. The texture of the soup is definitely different from others, but it is still a great experience. This soup is my favorite to add hot sauce to; Tapatio is a great hot sauce for the soup!
1) Tom Yum Soup
This is the best soup in the world! Tom yum soup, originating from Thailand, blends together spicy and sour flavors perfectly. With any choice of meat (shrimp being the best), the dish is to die for. The addition of mushrooms to the dish also creates a lovely blend of textures and flavors. I could honestly down 15 bowls of this soup in one sitting; it is THAT good. I highly recommend this soup to anyone who loves spicy food and seafood flavors!
With all considerations in mind, is there any other soup that deserves a spot on this list?
