Santa Clarita Valley’s “Concerts in the Park” have been a staple in the community since the summer of 1990, consistently bringing people together with its variety of fun and diverse musical performances. Held in the city’s very own Central Park, it stands out for its unique approach to music festivals. It is all about tributes to already-popular musical artists, with some of the main concerts this summer paying homage to Madonna, Bruno Mars, and Taylor Swift.
The great thing about this event? Each concert is free—yes, you heard that correctly! Participants are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs, or food, but food trucks are available for those wanting to support local Santa Clarita Valley businesses. Although you may not want to spend too much time at the food trucks, since spots at the field fill up quickly!
There are also some regulations that everyone must follow to make the event run well. It is expected of everyone to show common courtesy and to respect their surroundings to keep the park in its best condition. Actions such as reserving spots with caution tape, rope, posts, or any items that can restrict people from taking a seat are prohibited. The goal of these concerts is to create a community where every visitor feels welcome, so it’s our job to be respectful!
Concerts in the Park will continue to be a staple in the community, just like they have been for the last 35 years! It is a great way to get out and become more involved with the city. Make sure to check out next year’s lineup, because it will surely be something to look forward to!
