Halloween has arrived! Well, at least at Disneyland. On Aug. 22, Disneyland transformed their magical theme park into a spooktacular kingdom of Halloween fun.
Many can agree that Disneyland is a master at creating magical childhood memories and days with the family, and right now, they are really stepping up the magic factor. With autumn around the corner, Disneyland is incorporating eerie elements into its park to enhance the Halloween experience.
Disneyland, for instance, is introducing themed attractions and entertainment into their day-to-day fun. Featured activities include enchanting light parades and whimsical firework shows in front of the Sleeping Beauty inspired castle, while iconic Disney villains make an appearance, flying around in the sky. On some nights from August through October, Disneyland’s California Adventure Park will host a Halloween-themed party called the Oogie Boogie Bash, which can be viewed on their website.
In addition to hosting special Halloween festivities, Disneyland has been decorated with enchanting decor. For instance, their decorators and imagineers set up their famous Mickey Mouse pumpkin front and center in the park. The park also put up sparkling string-lights, festive banners with villains and other Halloween elements printed on them, as well as pumpkins sprinkled throughout the park.
Perhaps the most memorable Halloween decorations are in the New Orleans section of Disneyland. There are people dressed as ghosts strolling around the area, the Headless Horseman making special appearances, and meet-and-greets with well-known characters such as Jack Skellington and Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Additionally, Disney changed the popular ride “The Haunted Mansion” from its typical haunted mansion concept to Halloween Town from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” They incorporated elements of the movie through decorations, movie scenes, songs, landmarks, and characters. This amazing attraction can even be seen without visiting Disneyland. You can view it from the comfort of your own home by simply visiting YouTube; however, I strongly advise you go to the park to check it out for yourself because there’s nothing like seeing it with your own eyes.
Desserts, as we all know, is the ideal way to end the day. Disneyland offers entertaining haunted treats during the Halloween season. Their sugary delights range from villain themed cakes to frightful cupcakes. In case you don’t have a sweet tooth, they provide salty Halloween food like meatball sliders. You can see these treats and many more horrific delights on Disneyland’s Halloween foodie guide.
Overall, if you are in need of some Halloween spirit, Disneyland is definitely the place to go!
