Having opened on Sept. 26, 2025, the Reign of Terror Haunted House is officially in session for fall 2025! The house is up and running and will remain open all the way through Nov. 2, 2025. Located in Janss Marketplace in Thousands Oaks, California, this attraction is known for its ability to scare you and give you an overall memorable experience!
The house has around 14 different themes for each of its scares, and there are a total of 142 rooms of terror matching each theme. These themes consist of “The Bayou,” “Vampires Lair,” and “The Possession,” which are all new additions to the house as of 2025. The continuous themes from years before are: “Unhallowed Ground,” “Forest of Fear,” “The Haunted House,” “Containment,” “Miners Revenge,” “The Asylum,” “Infected,” “Casa Blood,” “Inbred,” “Quarantine,” and, finally, the “Fun House.”
If you are curious about what some of these themes may look like, they have trailers of some of the attractions on their main website. Another thing you will find on the website is the age restrictions; only those 13 years and older are allowed.
For those wishing to buy tickets to the event, you have several options. If you purchase your tickets online, it is $42.99 for general admission on regular nights and $47.99 for general admission on peak nights, which are the dates that usually experience the most people coming to their event. Those dates this year are October 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, and 31. If you hate waiting in lines, you can purchase the immediate access tickets, which allow you to cut the line and go right on in. On regular nights, the prices for these tickets are $67.99, and on peak dates, they are $72.99.
You can also purchase your tickets at the ticket window, which takes cash only. These ticket sales are final, and no refunds are allowed.
If the prices seem a little high, that is because this haunted house isn’t just like any other; it is a 30-minute-long frightening experience. Comparatively, other attractions usually only last around 5-10 minutes. And I can assure you… you will not be bored for any of those 30 minutes at the Reign of Terror Haunted House!
As someone who just visited this house, I can without a doubt say it is such an exciting experience and something I would recommend to anyone who loves the Halloween season just as much as I do! The actors were amazing; not only did they scare you in the house, but they had scare actors outside while waiting in line. I thought it was an amazing thing they did to keep everyone entertained.
As we were walking through the maze, there was a specific theme, “The Asylum,” where there were a lot of gates around us and one path for us to follow. As I was walking past one of the gates, there was a hidden door, and someone came out and jumpscared me. Although I got scared, it was extremely fun, and definitely my favorite part.
