Landon Lands a Spot in the All American Bowl
CHS senior quarterback, Landon Naasz, has been invited to the All American Classic! The American Bowl features the top high school seniors in the country. Athletes get to compete for the last time in their high school career which will take place in Orlando, Florida on Jan. 15, 2022.
Canyon head coach Joe Maiale said “I am extremely proud of Landon making the All American Bow. He has worked hard to get to this point and I am glad to see that he is getting the recognition he deserves.”
Naasz, a 3-year quarterback veteran, and QB1 for Canyon has been performing well and his efforts have gotten him noticed by colleges. With two offers from Graceland University and Culver-Stockton College, Landon has done exactly what he transferred to Canyon to do. He came from San Jacinto Valley Academy to Canyon to perform at a more competitive level and gain college interest so he could continue his football career.
One of Naasz’s best games came from a hard-fought 23-22 win against Palmdale high school. He threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns for the Canyon Cowboy’s victory. This win showed Nassz’s potential. “Landon has a tremendous work ethic. He puts 100% effort into everything he does. His dedication will serve him well not only on the football field but in life,” said coach Maiale. Senior Derek Gonzalez, starting linebacker for Canyon, said that “Landon is one athletic dude.”
“I think that the all American Bowl will go great and it will be a great experience to play with and against some good talent,” said Naasz. This experience is great to add to his resume of experience because he needs to get used to playing top players as he transitions onto the next level.
Be sure to follow Naasz and give him all your support, as there are high hopes for him as he continues his football journey!
