Someone has given millions of social media users another thing to argue about.

Are there more doors or wheels in the world?

On Mar. 5, 2022, Ryan Nixon, a man from New Zealand, tweeted a poll with the statement, “My mates and I are having the STUPIDEST debate…And I am here for it. Do you think there are more doors or wheels in the world?”

Nixon only expected the poll to get about 100 votes. To his surprise, on the last day of voting, the poll had reached millions of people and accumulated 223,347 votes! Nixon himself stated he was team wheels, and 53.6% of the 223,347 votes also favored wheels.

Although the Twitter poll has ended, social media users of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and more, have taken it upon themselves to keep the debate going.

Some arguments for people who favor doors are skyscrapers, which have hundreds to thousands of doors, kitchen cabinets, which most homes contain around 10, and hotels, similar to skyscrapers, have hundreds of doors. On the other hand, wheel supporters argued that most skyscrapers have office chairs on wheels, kitchen drawers move on wheels, and hotels have multiple carts on wheels for foodservice and room cleaners.

Though the world will probably never know the answer to the debate, it is very interesting to see millions of people’s take on the subject and their arguments to back up their side. Are you team doors or team wheels?
