NBA Finals: Who Will be Crowned 2022 Champs?
Only two teams remain in the 2022 NBA finals: Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics. They are the only squads who have a chance at going home with the breathtaking gold-plated Larry O’Brien trophy. With no super teams surviving, both teams are just a matter of wins away from making this the year to remember!
As of Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks have been eliminated, meaning the Warriors are back for their 6th final in the last 7 years! Players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are one step closer to winning the finals, and getting back on track to dominating the league. Curry and Thompson are having quite the comeback season by both averaging over 20.4 points a game this season.
After a neck and neck Eastern Conference series, the Celtics came out on top after a thrilling game seven that was nearly forced into overtime. Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat has been given respect from almost every NBA fan there is for all of his effort put into acclaiming his first championship. However, his performances were not enough to take down the young trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart.
With two powerhouse teams recently eliminated, former champions Milwaukee Bucks, and the Phoenix Suns, who lost to the Bucks in the previous year’s final, the majority of fans and analysts’ postseason predictions were incorrect. Therefore both teams have been wrongfully doubted this season, leading to more motivation that will hopefully give a bigger push to the edge in claiming victory for their cities.
Will Tatum, Brown, and Smart claim victory? Or will they all succumb to the winning environment of the Golden State Warriors? Where a good portion of players will be one finger short of filling up a hand with some nice hardware.
