On October 28, 2022, the Major League Baseball World Series began. This series was between the National League Philadelphia Phillies and the American League Houston Astros.

Going into this series, most of the people that follow baseball were rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies because this team has not won a World Series since 2008. Another reason why is because many people dislike the Astros and what the team has done in the past.

In 2017, the Houston Astros faced the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, and after seven games, the Astros won. It was not until recently that it was discovered that the Astros cheated throughout the series and took what would have been the Dodgers’ World Series title.

Many people dislike the fact that the Astros faced little to no punishments and just carried on after the incident.

So, as this series commenced, most people were rooting for the Phillies, while mostly fans from Houston were rooting for the Astros. Yet, the Phillies were still considered the underdogs.

The series started in Houston, Texas, for the first two games. The Phillies won the first game with the score of 6-5. In the next game, the Astros won with the score of 5-2.

As the teams traveled to Philadelphia, the Phillies fans were preparing for the next two games and hoping for the team to win both games. Relief fled through the stadium in the third game at the end of the 9th inning when the game was over, and the Phillies won 7-0. Unfortunately for the Phillies fans, the Astros won the next game (5-0), making the series tied 2-2. With the final game in Philadelphia and the series being tied, everyone following this series was nervous and excited. With the end of a close game four, the Astros won with a score of 3-2.

Traveling back to Houston, Phillies fans were nervous, and the Astros fans were ecstatic. The Phillies were hoping to push to a seventh game. On the other hand, the Astros were hoping to win the next game and obtain the trophy in their home stadium.

With a suspenseful start of the game, the first run did not happen until the 6th inning, with the Phillies scoring first; however, at the bottom of the 6th inning, the Astros scored four runs, making the score 4-1. Sighs of relief could be heard throughout the stadium because the Astros got hold of a good lead. In Philadelphia angry and frustrated shouts of disbelief could be heard, and everyone was at the edge of their seats with the hope of runs being scored in the coming innings.

No other runs were scored, which makes the Houston Astros the 2022 World Series Champions!
