The Geforce RTX 40-series graphic cards by Nvidia were announced at the Technology Conference event on Sept. 20, 2022. The first card to release from the series was the RTX 4090. Then, one month later, the RTX 4080 was released, and just this year, the RTX 4070 was released.

The release of these cards came at a bad time for Nvidia because, at the moment, there are many graphic cards at second-hand markets for a very affordable price. This is because in 2021 there was a graphic card shortage, but then the cryptocurrency market crashed, and now many graphic cards are at almost half the price compared to prices before the crash.

This still doesn’t take away from the fact the 40-series cards are by far the best cards produced by Nvidia. The RTX 4090 is the most expensive, priced at $1,599, but it has killer performance that reaches up to 100+ fps (frames per second) at 4k with all of the highest settings. Some games tested by zWORMz Gaming were “Assassins Creed Valhalla,” which had an average fps of 125, “Cyberpunk 2077” reaching an average of 137 fps, and “Forza Horizon 5” at an average of 161 fps.

The higher fps truly does make a difference in performance because it makes the game appear smoother and more realistic, which makes all games very enjoyable to play. The RTX 40-series cards are a big improvement to the previous cards, the RTX 30-series, because the best 30-series card compared to the best 40-series doesn’t even compare with the RTX 4090 being 75% faster than the RTX 3090.

With that being said, Nvidia continues to try and make better graphic cards, and they haven’t stopped there because there have even been rumors saying that the 50-series cards could release as early as 2024.
