“Every Last Word” is a novel by Tamara Ireland Stone. The book is about Samantha McAllister, who seems to be like all the other popular girls at her school, but she has a secret.
Samantha has OCD and is constantly overwhelmed with many thoughts. Her life becomes a struggle with each thought that she cannot control, especially with friends as toxic as hers. But when she meets Caroline, she can’t help but welcome the relaxing feeling she gets with her.
When Caroline shows Samantha the “Poet’s Corner,” a hidden room with a handful of misunderstood individuals, she is quickly captivated by them and tries to become a member. Then, when she gets comfortable with this, she is struck by some disturbing information that has her questioning her sanity.
This book was amazing. I loved Samantha’s development throughout the book, and there were even points where I had to sit and think about my own mental state.
In addition to the emotional aspect the book gives, there is also a romance subplot with the enemies to lovers trope. So, if you enjoy reading romance, this book gives you some of that as well.
I rate the book a 4/5. Even though I thought the book was amazing, the ending felt very quick and rushed. It kept me flipping to the next page eager to find out what was going to happen next and how Samantha was going to go through it.
“Every Last Word” is a book that is definitely worth the read and deserves more attention. With 358 pages, this novel will entertain you in the best way possible.
