A lot of people like T.J. Watt. Watt is a defensive end for the Steelers and moves to Linebacker at times. He is currently in his sixth year in the NFL, and he’s 29 years old.
T.J. Watt was born on Oct. 11, 1994 in Wisconsin. He played for Pewaukee High School. After high school, he then went to play for the Wisconsin Badgers in college before being selected by the Steelers. Watt hasn’t played on any other team since being drafted to the Steelers, and he was an All-American player coming into the NFL draft.
Since joining the NFL, Watt has proved to be one of the best players. In fact, he passed James Harrison as the all time sack leader for the Steelers.
The Steelers don’t do well when Watt is out, struggling to score points and win games. He’s a good player because, when the Steelers need him to make a play, sack the quarterback, a tackle for loss, or force fumble he’ll make it happen. When an opposing team is up by a touchdown and are close to scoring again, Watt will make them lose yards or do whatever it takes for the Steelers to end up on top at the end of the game.
Unfortunately, Watt has faced some struggles in recent weeks. As of right now, he is currently injured. Watt dislocated his finger when playing against the Ravens and messed up his heel at practice during the bye week; he was out Thursday, but that’s still not stopping him. With the bye week, he’ll have time to fully recover and be ready to face the Rams. Last season the Steelers lost Watts to a torn pectoral four quarters into the season opener, so fans hope this current injury is quick to heal.
Watt also made recent headlines due to the fines he is facing. These fines are for hitting some player in the throat against the Ravens and also for sacking Lamar Jackson and taking off his helmet afterwards in the middle of the field. Watt is trying to appeal these fines and says that he did not mean to cause any harm.
As the season continues, fans are hoping Watt is able to continue helping the Steelers on a path to victory. Watt is also excited to see what is next for the team and has said his next goal is to go to the playoffs, and the main goal is to win the Super Bowl.
With T.J. Watt on their team, the Steelers are sure to have a great season.
