The 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship took place in Salt Lake City, Utah. The championship final was held on Saturday, May 10 at the Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Haiden Deegan won the 250SX West title, and Tom Vialle won the 250SX East title. In the 450 class, Cooper Webb won the 450 Championship.
Though Webb won the 450 championship title, Chase Sexton won the championship race. To win, Webb needed nine more points to make up for his previous race scores and earn the championship title. His last race scores made it nearly impossible to win the title, but he managed.
Chase Sexton said, “He’s such a good competitor. I knew tonight was going to be a long shot.” Though Sexton didn’t get the championship title, he still congratulated Webb. Sexton ended up getting fourth place, but his points from previous races were added to his record to make him win the championship race.
In the 250 West event, Hidden Deegan had already secured the championship title from the weekend before the race. He added up his points after winning the race in Denver, and he calculated that he would win the Supercross Championship a week after the Denver race. In the championship race in Salt Lake City, Deegan led every lap, winning the race. Deegan stated, “I just needed a statement ride like this,” after winning the championship title.
Julien Beaumer finished second overall in the 250 West Division Championship. He was close to winning the championship title, but overall, he needed 32 more points to catch up to Deegan, who had 221 points total. Beaumer had 189 points total, due to two second-place winnings from previous races and a win from the San Diego race on Jan. 18. Beaumer stated, “No team tactics; we’re racing dirt bikes,” as he competed with Tom Vialle, who was racing for the 250 East division championship.
Tom Vialle, who won the 250 East Division Championship, also had a great start. He started strong out of the first few riders and was confident in the first 6 laps. He made minor mistakes but caught up and said, “Okay, this is mine.” Overall, he finished the race strong to secure the East Division Championship title.
The 2025 Monster Supercross Championship in Salt Lake City turned out to be a successful event and was a memorable experience for all riders.
