As Halloween creeps closer, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights has officially opened to the public, bringing chilling mazes and ghostly scare zones to those who walk through!
Tickets for Universal Hollywood went on sale in September and will continue to be available until Nov. 2. There are a variety of tickets on sale. The most common tickets that people purchase are the general admission tickets, which allow people into the park at 7 p.m. These tickets let people enjoy the rides and mazes around the park. The most popular tickets, though, are the Express tickets, which allow people to skip lines and access the mazes and rides quickly. People with these tickets are also allowed to enter the Super Nintendo World.
Other tickets available for this event have different perks. Some of these tickets include the R.I.P. Tour, After 2 PM Day/Night, After 2 PM Day/Night Universal Express, Frequent Fear Pass, and Ultimate Fear Pass. They also offer add-ons to your ticket, which include Early Access, Express, and Dining Pass.
The terms and conditions also recommend that this event may not be suited for children under the age of 13.
So far, this year has been very successful for Universal due to their well-liked mazes. One of the most popular mazes this year that has attracted many people is “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” Due to the second movie coming out this year in December, fans are excited to see what this maze had in store.
Another very popular maze is the “Terrifier” maze. This maze was very intricate and appealed to guests’ senses, especially smell. The smells can vary from the smell of feces all the way to the smell of popcorn and cotton candy.
Other mazes and attractions that they have this year include “Fallout,” “Jason,” “Poltergeist,” “Scarecrow,” “Monstrous 3,” and the “Terror Tram.”
They not only have amazing mazes, but they also have different zones in the park with scare actors. Near the Universal Plaza, they have Noche de Brujas, which features actors in amazing costumes that represent La Llorona.
Near the new “Fast and Furious” ride, they ran with the theme of “Murder of Crowz.” Here, they have intricate, detailed scare actors, as well as actors on stilts. Lastly, near the front of the park, they have “Chainsaw Clownz,” going with the theme “Carnival of Carnage.”
A Canyon student named Olivia Macias was asked what her favorite maze was, she responded, “My favorite maze was ‘The Scarecrow!’ I loved the atmosphere and how immersive it was…it definitely put you on edge.”
Macias also said, “I think my overall favorite thing was being able to enjoy the event with my close friend and feeling the atmosphere of October rolling in!”
Universal definitely knocked it out of the park this year with their Horror Nights! Hopefully, they will continue to be successful and bring new amazing mazes next year as well!
