We are only nine months into 2023, and so far, many great albums have been released. From January to September, here are some of the best albums published this year.
Starting with January, three albums stand out the most: “Five Easy Hot Dogs” by Mac DeMarco, “Mansion Musik” by Trippie Redd, and “Let’s Start Here” by Lil Yachty. These are all great albums, and I especially recommend you listen to “Let’s Start Here,” as I think it’s an amazing album and a contender for Album of the Year. These are just three out of over 50 albums for the month of January.
For February, there are many more releases. Some of the larger albums include “This is Why” by Paramore, “Heroes & Villains (Villains Version)” by Metro Boomin, “Love Sick” by Don Toliver, “Cracker Island” by Gorillaz, and “Afterlyfe” by Yeat. February is absolutely packed with album releases, so if you are interested in a new listen, I recommend you check this month out.
March also has many different albums ranging from rock to country. In my opinion, the two biggest releases for this month were “Red Moon In Venus” by Kali Uchis, and Lana Del Rey’s “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.”
In April, Metallica’s “72 Seasons,” Mac DeMarco’s “One Wayne G,” and “Become” by Beach House were some of the larger releases.
May, once again, had many album releases, but in my opinion, “Unforgiven” by Le Sserafim and “If Looks Could Kill” by Destroy Lonely are the best for this month. Both are great albums, so I recommend both.
June saw many great artists release new music. This includes Foo Fighters, Wiz Khalifa, Gunna, Coi Leray, The Alchemist, and Lil Uzi Vert. Lil Uzi Vert’s album, “Pink Tape,” was probably the most hyped out of this entire month, and he delivered with an amazing album.
In July, two major artists released their new projects: Post Malone with “Austin” and “Utopia” by Travis Scott. “Utopia” was one of the most anticipated albums, with Post Malone’s previous release happening over four years prior. If you haven’t listened to it yet, I highly recommend it. In my opinion, it will most likely win Album of the Year.
August didn’t have as many releases as the previous months, but it still had some great artists like “A Love Letter To You 5” by Trippie Redd and Earl Sweatshirt’s “Voir Dire.”
So far, September has been a great month with many albums being published. Some of the best releases are “The Lost Petals” by D4vd, “Bewitched” by Laufey, “Guts” by Olivia Rodrigo, and Rod Waves’ “Nostalgia.” However, we are only half way through the month, and there are many more albums to come.
Some other artists that plan to release an album this year are: Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Chief Keef, Ken Carson, and Playboi Carti. One album that is going to be released soon is “For All the Dogs” by Drake which is planned to release on Oct. 22.
The rest of this year fills fans around the world with anticipation and excitement. This year will be a great year for all music listeners.
