Forgotten memories and isolated. The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here. We finally know the aftermath of what happened after “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The new trailer just dropped for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” and things are not looking so good for Peter Parker. There are so many questions that have sparked amongst fans regarding the new trailer.
For starters, what is happening with Peter? In the trailer, we can see that something is off with his body. He is mutating in a sense. There are many fan theories regarding what is changing within him, as webs appear to be coming out of his hands organically. Many fans speculate that he is turning into a man spider, or he is becoming The Other. There is a possibility that he could be dying as well.
The real question is, though, how is Peter going to get through this if no one knows his true identity? We see him talking with the Hulk about this issue, but is he telling this as a hypothetical problem, or did he tell the Hulk the truth? One thing is for sure though: the Hulk would be a good new mentor for Peter, and that is what it appears he will become.
Also, we know that Ned and MJ do not remember Peter, but do they remember their memories with Spider-Man? If so, could MJ still have feelings for Spider-Man? This would give Peter the chance to get back into her life. Although, from the trailer, it appears that MJ may have another love interest. We do not know how significant this new guy is, or if he is significant at all.
As for Ned, some fans speculate that, with this new loss of memories, Ned's character could change for the worse. As seen in the past “Spider-Man” movies with actor Tobey Maguire, his best friend turned evil. The same thing could be happening with Ned; that certainly would be a good plot twist.
Another question rising amongst fans is: where is Sadie Sink? She is in the cast for the new movie, but she is nowhere to be seen in the trailer. This makes us question just how important of a role she has in this movie and if she will be the one to find out that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Knowing her background and spectacular acting in “Stranger Things,” I have no doubt that whatever role she plays in this movie will leave an impact on fans.
Circling back to Tom Holland, now that Peter Parker is a loner and isolated in the world, he has become much more relatable to fans. Seeing people he used to know having fun without him hits close to home to many fans. Although it is not as extreme as having everyone forget about your existence, many people have felt lonely and out of place at some point in their lives. This era in Peter’s life can provide comfort for others knowing that their feelings of loneliness are valid, and even Spider-Man goes through lows.
This trailer already has so many people discussing and theorizing about the upcoming movie, gaining over 700 million views in the first 24 hours of its release. Many fans, such as myself, are super hyped for the movie. Fans are even making edits of the trailer on TikTok (very good ones might I add).
This franchise has impacted so many lives that many people feel personally connected to the “Spider-Man” movies. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is looking to be one of the best movies of 2026, and I am looking forward to watching it.
