Looking to become a dermatologist or any sort of beautician? You should definitely join Canyon’s Dermocosmetics Club! This club strives to promote skin health education, dermatological passions, and student involvement in initiatives that support community health.
Not only will you learn essentials to dermocosmetics, but you will also learn the importance of skincare and your overall health. At club meetings, they discuss what you may need to contribute to your personalized skin care routine, such as the importance of cleansers, toners, moisturizers, sunscreen, and serums.
I interviewed vice president Roselyn Ramirez Garcia and asked what someone has to do in order to become a member of the club. She stated, “To be a member of the club this year, all you really need to do is show up at the meetings and participate.” Meetings are the last Wednesday of each month in room G-105.
The club has hosted many exciting events, like hands-on activities such as making lip balms, decorating mirrors, and having group discussions. The club has even participated in local charity events where they do face painting at one of the stalls.
Even if you are not interested in the club, checking it out may change your mind. If not, the club hosts many fundraisers for you to support those who do join. For next school year, they aim to increase the number of initiatives that support skin-related issues and other local institutions.
The Dermocosmetics Club is full of wonderful people who really care about you and your skin health. If you would like to join any health field, in regards to skin development, this club is the place for you.
