The 2026 Super Bowl took place on Feb. 8, taking over Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The New England Patriots took on the Seattle Seahawks at the big game, just about two weeks after their respective battles against the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams.
The AFC and NFC champions went head to head, with the Seattle Seahawks running with the lead early in quarter one with a field goal, maintaining their stride until the end of the game. The strong New England Patriots got up to speed in the fourth quarter, getting two touchdowns and an extra point. The game ended with the Seattle Seahawks taking home the Vince Lombardi trophy and the long-term prestige with a final score of 29-13.
The game itself wasn’t the only thing keeping people interested, with an incredible guestlist of stars ready to keep people entertained. At the league’s ultimate pregame party, Grammy-nominated recording artist Teddy Swims took the stage at the Super Bowl LX Tailgate Concert with LaRussell, a rising star and Bay Area native.
The 30 minute Super Bowl Opening Ceremony featured performances from Green Day, who rocked the stage with several of their songs, and Charlie Puth who sang the National Anthem. They were also assisted by Brandi Carlile who performed “America the Beautiful” and Coco Jones with “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
The famous halftime show was headlined by Grammy-winning recording artist Bad Bunny, who brought Puerto Rico to one of the world’s biggest stages. The 13-minute performance featured surprise appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, with a powerful message of unity including the phrase “Together, We Are America.” The tracks heard within the medley included Bad Bunny’s notable hits, including “BALIE INoLVIDABLE,” as well as Lady Gaga’s salsa version of “Die With a Smile.” If you are interested in watching the wonderful and culture-filled performance, you can watch it here.
Those watching the Super Bowl at home were also drawn in by a variety of different advertisements. Some of the most notable include “Pringleleo” and Sabrina Carpenter's love story, and State Farm Insurance’s insistence that you shouldn’t be settling for coverage that may only be halfway there with help from KATSEYE, Bon Jovi, and more. Some hit a more controversial reaction, with Kendall Jenner’s advertisement for Fanatics Sportsbook leaning into the meme that she causes NBA players to play poorly, and SVEDKA’s AI-generated commercial.
The Super Bowl is one of the biggest celebrations of the year in the U.S, and the 60th edition of the game did not falter.
