Rhonda Corona is both a section editor and a graphic designer for the Pony Express. She is in her fourth year of Journalism and she mainly writes about artistic topics or senior events on campus and enjoys creating graphics for the website articles. In her free time she loves to write short fiction stories, play video games like Five Nights at Freddy’s and Minecraft, and make art, letting her imagination take her to entirely new worlds.

To celebrate Dia de los Muertos, two main things people do for the holiday are decorating with marigolds and painting skulls on their faces. People decorate ofrendas (offerings) and graveyards with marigolds since they are believed to guide the spirits of loved ones to their alters. People also paint their faces to look like skulls which in the past were used to scare the dead away at the end of festivities, but now in modern-day are used to represent a deceased loved one.
